Your Homepage = Your First Impression
Think of your homepage like the front door of your business.
You want it to:
- Welcome the right people
- Turn away the wrong people (yes, that’s a good thing!)
- Show off your vibe and credibility
- Guide them to the next best step
But most coaches treat their homepage like a vision board instead of a conversion tool.
It’s time to shift from “pretty” to “purposeful.”
The Fix: Make It About Them, Not You
If your homepage starts with:
“Welcome! I’m [Name], and I’m so passionate about helping people transform…”
You’ve already lost them.
That first headline should reflect your audience’s pain or desire, not your résumé.
Because they’re not there to admire your site — they’re there to solve a problem.
Proof It Works
Studies show you have 3–7 seconds to grab someone’s attention on your website before they bounce.
Your homepage doesn’t need to do everything — but it does need to do the right things fast.
Fix 1: Headline with a Hook
This is the first thing your visitor sees — make it count.
Instead of:
“Welcome to my coaching site”
Try:
“Tired of Getting Overlooked Online? Let’s Fix That.”
or
“Helping Busy Coaches Turn Systems Into Sales (Without More Burnout)”
Use direct, conversational language. Speak to their reality. Make it clear you see them.
Fix 2: Easy Navigation
A confused visitor is a lost visitor.
You don’t need 8 menu items. Stick to the essentials:
- Home
- About
- Services or Work With Me
- Blog or Resources
- Contact
Include a “Start Here” button or section to guide first-time visitors into the right flow (freebie, discovery call, blog, etc.).
Fix 3: Credibility Section
Do you have testimonials? Past client logos? A feature in a podcast or magazine?
Put that proof right on the homepage.
Even 2–3 short quotes or results can be enough to:

- Show transformation
- Socially validate your offer
If you’re just starting out, try a mini bio with a confidence-building statement, like:
“Trusted by over 50 clients to streamline and scale their businesses.”
Fix 4: Clear Call to Action
Every homepage needs one main CTA — not five.
Choose your priority:
- Book a Discovery Call
- Grab the Freebie
- Join the Waitlist
- Contact Me
Place it above the fold (meaning, visible without scrolling). Repeat it again at the bottom of the page.
Make the button large and action-oriented:
“Book Your Free Call” instead of “Submit”
Bonus Tip: Less = More
You don’t need a ton of copy or fancy animations.
What you need is focus.
Here’s what to remove:
- Paragraphs about your childhood
- 4+ different offers stacked in one place
- Canva banners with no real purpose
- Auto-play music or popups that interrupt the experience
Keep it clean. Keep it client-centered.
